Flexo-Plate

OsteoLife Biomedical has added to its inventory flexible and bendable, partially decalcified bone sheet and is adopted for use during in-vivo repair, replacement or reformation of the skeletal system. The allografts are comprised of partially decalcified natural bone sheets. The Flexo-Plate has sufficient flexibility and the strength to be shaped to conform to the morphology of the defect without any damage to the sheet. The Flexo-Plate is processed such that its irregular perforations with Serrated edges are configured to facilitate ingrowth of cell and vasculature from pre-existing sources of cartilage or bone tissue at a faster rate compared to a cortical bone sheet of similar thickness.

The Flexo-Plate is ultimately resorbed by the body thereby eliminating the need for surgical removal as is often necessary when exogenous membrane material is used.

It has been shown that partially or completely decalcified bone matrix can be sectioned into thin sheets (Flexo-Plates) and can be utilized for repairing or regenerating bone. The Flexo-plates are 0.75 to 1.0mm thick.
